Tees on 17, 18 and 4 Blue were installed this morning. More were planned but I wasn’t there to see which ones.

I’ll be there at 9 tomorrow to work on the 13 blue tee.

So all tees are installed but a few are in need of tamping.
4 blue has the wrong material in it so I'm gonna make a call to the town to get that replaced. Thinking that we can shovel the existing gravel around the outside of the frame and over to the white tee.

Greg, Cody and I shoveled some tees at Blatnick today. Ground still too frozen to do any tee improvements.
The basic tee numbers signs are in. The installation may start tomorrow.

All tees are clear of snow, next tee arrows installed, OB stakes added to hole 4. Hole 4 also got some last minute trimming and clean up.

Tee 11 blue will be an issue I'm going to work on this week, provided the Town can deliver some gravel to that area. Long term solution will require the tee to be moved.

On Monday, the Town will be installing tee sign posts on the new holes so please leave the flags you see near new tees and stakes so the signposts are put in a safe location.

Gravel work tomorrow on 4 and other holes if we have enough people.

Conditions as of June 7th
1 is mowed
2 is about 10% mowed but the grass isn't that dense.
3 is a bit thick around the green
4 is dry and the ferns/ground cover isn't too bad.
5 is partially mowed but playable if you pay attention to drives from the blue tee.
6 is playable, grass is 1-2 ft but not thick
7 is mowed to the white tee and 2-3ft the rest of the way to the green. SPOTTER REQ'D
8 is not mowed. 2-3ft tall grass. Playable but watch your drives
9 is not mowed EXCEPT for a 30ft wide lane down to the right. SPOTTER REQ'D
10 is mowed about 30ft wide up to the path. Green is not mowed.
11 & 12 was mowed a week or two ago so grass is not too tall.
13 the ferns are starting to fill in. Cannot see the yellow band from the blue tee.
14 is surprisingly in great shape. Ground cover in the woods is sporadic and the green was recently mowed. Even the wet area at the woods edge is dry.
15 & 16 are mowed
17 is thick with ferns
18 white is thick ferns and the blue fairway is about under a foot tall

Thanks for your reply though I decided to chance it and went without a condition report.

The first 6 holes are very playable, 4 is overgrown and needs a brushhoging though playable.
I met Discapper Adam looking for a white beast.

I decided not to play 7-14. The fairways are not mowed and brushhoged. It's quite high and I did not want to spend more time searching for discs than playing.

I walked the course to figure out tees and targets. Some tees are not marked at all and some you cannot tell if it's blue or white? Baskets are not numbered also?

I found a pink leopard on 9's fairway, no name or #. If it's yours and you want it back send a Private Message and I will mail it to you.

I played 15-16(old 8-9). Very playable.
Could not play 17&18 mostly because of Poison Ivy on 17. Both need brushhoging.

Talked to a park worker taking a break and he said he thought the mower they use to mow the big hill has had mechanical problems. The course will be cut when mower is fixed. He told me to call the Highway Dept for concrete answers.

Thanks for the detailed update, Mel
I’m trying to stay in regular contact with the town so that they’re aware of the course needs.

Holes like 4 and 17 will need a volunteer to weed whack from time to time because their tractor is too wide to make it thru.

I stopped by the park today and it appears that the mower is functional again, or they had someone come out and mow.
18 is not mowed, aside from the green.
17 appears as if they tried dumping cut grass on the fairway to knock down the growth. I'm worried that the leftover stumps prevented them from getting in further than the 20' they did.
The hill with holes 1-6 is mowed completely.
I didn't get a good look at 8-13 but the 14s green is fresh cut and it looks like the cut at least past the white 7 tee.

I'm hoping to head out soon to check out the rest of the holes........ i wanna give the town some details on the new areas we'd like them to mow more often.

I wanna get out here with a rake and shovel to level the tees before they freeze.
Thinking Tuesday or Wednesday.

James Black and I worked on the tees to get them flat and mostly grass/weed-free. There’s a few soft spots so PLEASE smooth out any foot divots you make so they don’t freeze that way.
