Grout Run in Central Park

Post by timdef » Wed Sep 26, 2012 9:07 pm

Has anyone ever been in the park for the Grout Run?

This race occurs annually and has been going on (presumably) in Central Park since 1939.

Trying to find out if this event makes rounds of disc impossible. I plan to have a work event that is basically just lots of co-workers playing disc.

i reached out to the race director via email but some discgolfers' perspective would be much appreciated

Thanks,
Tim

I think it's on the other side of the park that they run according to a senior DisCap Board member :)

...but i dont suppose it doesn't [<--added] hurt to let Mr/Coach Menis know we want to stay out of the race's way and that we want to confirm that shouldn't be problem. The more information he can share with us the better.

Thanks Pete. Seriously, don't spend too much time on it. He should be seeing an email from me in the morning too.

just realized i originally said "it hurts to let [him] know..."

meant to say "...doesn't hurt to let [him] know..."

sorry for that!

Lots of people

we just need to "play nice" and be prepared we may not get our usual rock-star parking

Kenji and Bob seem to think we'll be ok so thats a good sign.

Jeff's first hand experience last year says it will be super mobbed (in concurrence w/ Greg)

i'm remaining optimistic
