Winter rules for CPS *** PLEASE READ ***

When snow is on the ground and sledders are present, please do not play holes 15 & 16. When you finish 14, hang a left down the sidewalk to 17.

Can we play the short safari hole white tee 15 to basket 16? Or are the sledders in the way there, too? There had been talk of moving baskets 15 & 16 for the winter....

They sled from 15 blue tee down toward pin 16 AND down the big hill that crosses 15s fairway.

White 15 to 16 would be a really short hole but I see no real problem playing that.
If you wanna play 18 with the same par 57 as the normal course you could also add blue tee 1 to pin 2 as a par 4 replacement for 15.

Me and PeteD were out there last thursday the sledders were going from blue15 to right in front of white15 and the big hill beside 15 fairway. We had to wait a little for the sledders to be at the top of 15 and we threw from the white tee. The others sledders at the bottom didn't get in our way. It was about a dozen sledders between the 2 spots and we were able to play though without any prob except to wait to make sure sledders were at the top of the hill when we threw. 16 was no problem at all. Just make sure we use common sense. Don't throw if there is even a slight chance of going near someone.

CPS is lucky so far. Sledders are the reason the baskets get pulled for the winter at Ellison, and why we can't have concrete.

I'd like to think that people are playing the course with common sense, instead of just being "lucky". The lack of vision-blocking vegetation in the winter also makes it pretty obvious whether one should play these holes or not.

Regardless, I drove thru the park yesterday and the snow is all but gone from the hills.

I meant CPS is lucky in that the city/county/whoever supports year round disc golf. Unlike certain counties out this way, who think that 'multi-use' applies to everyone except DG'ers.

we are planning on pulling those baskets (15 & 16) once it looks like the snow is here to stay so go play them while you can. but if you see anyone sledding please skip the holes and go from 14 to 17

while most people have common sense sadly not everyone does. a 16 hole course is better than a 0 hole course

Hi Greg
Is the ice safe to go on?
Is there a flag system?

I dont think the ice is "safe" to go on yet.
they do have a flag system, red means unsafe, green means safe.
the flag is in front of the park office.

i saw some peeps out on the ice last week, but it did not look stable last weekend

With the recent heavy snowfalls, chances are that it's gonna be here to stay for duration of the season. Anyone planning to play CPS can expect to skip holes 15 & 16. Those baskets will be removed soon and a sign will be placed near basket #14, explaining that players should proceed to tee #17.

Once the snow melts, the baskets will be put back.

On the other hand, it looks like quite the thrill ride............. I might have to borrow a sled from the nephews and give it a go. :o

CPS is in really good shape considering it is Feb,lmao! WIth the snow we got fri nite there new ice patches here in there but nowhere near what it was like when i played at the end of Jan. I hope the baskets stay in thru the winter. Ive played like 10 days out of the last 14.

The sled hill looks WELL USED but no one was on it today when we played thru.
Use your better judgment when playing 15 & 16.
