DisCap courses

Post by MichiganJeff » Sun Sep 14, 2014 7:12 pm

This is a great local course list that we can share with new players. We should get it updated to include the current news about Chatham and Blatnick.

We can also add a OR code to access the page from a smartphone.

Bothering me for awhile, but shouldn't it be Stony Kill, like Mine Kill two words.

Pretty sure the suffix kill means river in Dutch and I believe it's attached to the word

"Kill" means small river or creek in old Dutch. Not contemporary Dutch. It can be separate or together, either way. Mine Kill or Fishkill. Hyzerkill sounds awesome!

Anhyzerkill. Is that when a tail wind drops it or when a head wind turns it into a roller?

I think the course is whatever we call it. That's the great thing about names.

Stony Kill = a creek referenced by USGS
Stonykill = a dg course referenced by PDGA

Of course... this is coming from a guy with a misspelled name.

Nice, Tim, thanks for the explanation. Stony Kill is on maps and signs as two words, but I suppose it doesn't really matter. Just want the discs we get stamped to be accurate!

I'm going to Hyzerkill it in the spring. Can't wait to throw some long bombs in the nice warm weather.
