I play at Thacher all the time. Probably once or twice a week, and would love to help with any redesign or tee construction that we might be able to do here.
Also totally willing to do any outreach to park staff about it if others are too bogged down with other things.

Great, I love Thacher too.
I have talked to park staff about problem areas and suggested possible solutions and improvements in the past(last year).

I met the park managers husband on the course a couple of times and he told me the course would improve. I have not seen any improvement since then but I know that there is a lot going on with construction of new restrooms etc. I'm waiting to see what happens at this point.

When the park office was in its previous location it was easier to go in and chat with the staff.
Anyone that has suggestions and concerns should go to the new visitor center and let them know.

This could & will be a great course for beginners and more advanced players.

Bill retired? He was called back to historic restoration last I talked to him. Too bad, he was easy to talk to and listened to players suggestions even though he did not play.... Yet!

For anyone that may not know this already.
I just received a reply from Thacher Park manager Nola Dalgallo.
I sent a letter asking her about the future developement of this course along with suggestions for improvement.
She informed me that the course would be newly evaluated and improvements will be made for the 2019 season.

Oops! That's not entirely accurate.
She said that they will TRY and have improvements made for the 2019 season.
We will see what happens.

The management at Thacher Park is looking for guidance on making improvements to the course.
I met with assistant manager Bill Hein this morning and gave my input on improving the existing course.
No one from the park seems to play DG?
So....anyone that wants to help them figure out how to improve the course can get ahold of Bill at:

Hi, that's great! So glad Thacher is making improvements!
I gave Bill my notes. In a nutshell, first thing... Redesign and install #15. Improve tee pads(suggested concrete as a best option). Move #1 downhill a bit along with making it level & #8. Suggested adding a tree border to help protect from play at #7's target area.
Suggested either moving playground near #3 OR add protective fencing and landscaping.
Of course, tee signs needed after tee & target positions decided. Also, "Next tee" signs! Etc, etc, etc.
Please convince them to move tables & grills from #4's total area of play.
I could go on & on...
BTW, I am signed up for the tourney in Sept. Thanks for running a tourney at this course. It will help with getting this course moving in the right direction!

Chris & Ryan, I will send my notes soon.
I am a casual/rec woman DGer so my perspective is just that.
Great you are getting involved with this course.
From what I understand, the Park is looking for a group to help with design and maintaince of the course.
